Appalachian Golf Cars came into being during the mid-90s and was originally called “Wayne’s Golf Cart World”. While we are proud of our heritage, we are also glad our name now starts with an “A” so that we can come first in the phone books.

Seriously, we are very serious about golf cars. And we know you will appreciate that.

We are Western North Carolina’s authorized Club Car® dealer. We are proud to wear the Black and Gold. Don’t you settle for anything less, either.

Appalachian Golf Cars is owned by Steve & Dawn Mitchell and their partner, Derek Brigden. Steve and Dawn moved to North Carolina in 2001 from “outside the beltway” in Northern Virginia. They shed the fast-paced life of the DC area and the technology industry and came to Sapphire to pursue a dream of owning their own business. Derek Brigden, their partner, provides ongoing strategic guidance while Steve and Dawn handle the operational side.

Steve’s primary responsibilities are customer service and sales. When you come into Appalachian Golf Cars and you are looking for a new or used car, Steve can explain the choices and help you to evaluate those choices based on your terrain, use and budget. Steve’s background is in Telecommunications and Electronics.

Dawn’s main focus is customer service and administration. And she’s pretty good with finding parts for your cart and selecting custom enclosure fabrics, too. Dawn’s experience includes technical support, programming, training, customer service and executive management.

Our staff is comprised of three full-time mechanics and an administrator. Our Lead Mechanic, Al, has been working on golf cars for over 10 years and is highly respected among his colleagues for his in-depth knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Ben has been with us for over five years and handles the heavy service runs up the mountain. Kim just joined us in the Spring of 2005, but he has hit the ground running and brings a great deal of experience with him. And Kelly runs the office functions including orders, billing, scheduling, and warranty processing.
